BEST SHOW EVER and MOHAWK COLLEGE MUSIC PROGRAM

Best Show Ever" and Mohawk College Music Program
Last Tuesday Oct. 17, I went to the Corktown to see Arthur Brown perform. I recall buying his records as imports, at either R and R Records on King Street near Walnut, or at Hermindad's in the Lister Block, here in Hamilton. Cool stores and the only places you could buy records from Europe, not available in Canada. The main reason I wanted to see and meet Arthur, was that he was a guest vocalist on the Robert Calvert recording "Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters". He is the voice of the Gremlin. Robert Calvert was a member of Hawkwind and this was his first solo album. Hawkwind are a major influence on Teenage Head. Arthur performed with the multi-instrumentalist Nick Pynn, who played guitar, violin, and bass pedals. Tim Gibbons called it the "best show ever". I agree.
On October 30th I will be performing "Pipeline" as part of the "Steeltown Friends of Mohawk Music". It is a birthday party celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the music program at Mohawk College, being held at the McIntyre Theatre at Mohawk's Fennell Avenue campus. I'm really nervous but I think it's going to be great. Wish me luck.
